Stone City Corvette Club, Bedford
|
|
| Members of our club met at the Cracker Barrel
in Seymour just off I-65 and cruised over to Bedford in convoy. Starting
out with 10 cars we picked up another 3 on the way. Just as we reached
Bedford the rain started, we had to stop at a red light and we were
witness to one of the fastest top raising events any of us had seen in a
while. This feat of speed was accomplished by Dan McElroy and his son who
got theirs up with time to spare before the light changed.
We parked our cars and took shelter. The rain was on and off for a while becoming quite heavy at times but eventually it cleared and we were able to dry off and make the cars presentable for the judging. It must be said that Stone City Club puts on a good show. It was well organized and for just a $10 registration fee for our cars we got a T-Shirt, Dash Plaque and a free ticket for the Museum. On top of this there were many, many door prizes and trophies for the top 3 cars in each of 7 different classes. And here's a plug for the Museum because it's well worth a visit and they even have a few from the famous British car maker Rolls Royce, See over 100 Race and
