Saturday December 6 saw us, once again, at the Knights of Columbus
for our Christmas party. My wife, Audrey, and Pat Robinholt did most of
the organizing this year and a grand job they did too. There were plenty
of decorations spread around to add to the festive atmosphere and door
prizes galore.
Contributing to the entertainment during the evening we had two
scheduled guests and some surprise visitors. Justin Dobbs joined us to
play Christmas Carols on the organ, and a few brave souls limbered up
their singing voices for some of the classics. We were also joined by
Rick Wilson, a local artist, who displayed some of his work.
The surprise visitors were Mr. & Mrs. Claus, no less. These two
characters, portrayed by Dave and Jan Hulze, really play their part well and you can see them pictured
below at the time when Mrs. Claus recited a short story to remind us of
the true meaning of Christmas.
There was also a second celebration going on as it was Terry's
birthday! You can see him below showing off one of his more....
interesting..... presents.
The President's Award this year went to Bill Calhoun who has been an
outstanding member of the club since 1981.
Last, but not least, no Corvette Club Christmas Party report should
go by without mentioning the wonderful spread of food. Many, many
members contributed with sweet and savory dishes and nothing went to
waste as the remaining food and cases of pop we took down to 'Horizon
House' to help those less fortunate.
Wishing you and yours all the best for the festive season.
Richard
